Product Description

16-channel, 8-preamp 24-bit/96kHz FireWire Audio Interface
Need eight preamps and the ability to mix and match them with any digital interface or recording system out there - at 96kHz? You've got it with MOTU's new 8pre, a 16-channel FireWire interface with eight, count 'em, eight mic/line preamps in one rackspace with phantom power, 20dB pad switch, and front-panel trim knob for each input. For that universality we talked about, the 8pre also features two banks of ADAT optical ports, which gives you an additional eight channels at up to 96kHz. While eight is enough for television families, it's never enough for audio engineers, which is why MOTU designed the 8pre to be expandable. Two FireWire ports allow for daisy chaining. The 8pre also offers two main outs with a separate volume control for monitoring purposes, MIDI I/O, AudioDesk recording software, and of course, MOTU's great sound!
